  • Workshop about the "asylum in Jordan" :

The Centre conducted in collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees workshop a about asylum in Jordan for academics and researchers, on 23/11/2010 in the hall of the National Center for Human Rights, the participants were from Jordanian universities , media, lawyers. The workshop discussed the international conventions which include the rights of refugee and the importance and justification for the 1951 Convention for asylum . the participants agreed at the end of the workshop on a set of recommendations to enhance the rights of refugees, including that there will be wider meetings and dialogues to discuss the status of a national law of asylum and focus on the theme of asylum in the study plans of universities and the importance of raise awareness of refugee issues.

 

 
  • Workshop on preliminary investigations into complaints of violence against women.

The Centre conducted a workshop on the preliminary investigations into complaints of violence against women for five days from 12-16 / 12 / 2010 which aimed at building the capacity of dealing with battered women and access to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the partners involved to develop and coordinate efforts in this area . the participants were specialists and law enforcement who deal directly with issues of violence against women from the Ministry of Justice , ministry of Social Development , Interior ministry, Office of the Ombudsman ,Public Security , the Jordan River ,Mizan, National Commission for Women's Affairs. 

 

 
  • Two workshops on "removing barriers that prevent persons with disabilities to exercise their right to participate in the electoral process:

The Centre conducted with the support of the Foundation JUST two workshops on "removing barriers that prevent persons with disabilities to exercise their right to participate in the electoral process" in Mafraq Governorate on 15-16/10/2010,To educate the community about importance of the participation of persons with disabilities in the electoral and provide them with all the necessary environmental facilities as granted in international standards and national laws.
